About Us

D for Dog began life in June 2004 as a dog photo gallery and shrine. Jenny Prevel has taken inspiration from her dogs, Boycie and Berkeley, to grow the site considerably since then to include dog news, events, articles and funnies, plus sections for lost dogs, items for sale, deaf dogs, dog services, charities, pet insurance, books, dog art, a friendly dog discussion forum, and of course an online store for doggie shopping.

Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout'.

Payment and Security
We accept payment by credit or debit card via the UPG secure online payment system. Your card details are entered via their secure server.

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

We are 3D Secure. 3D Secure is a scheme implemented by the banks and card schemes as a method of attempting to reduce card fraud. It is effectively a system similar to Chip and Pin, but for internet transactions. It requires the cardholder to enrol and select a password for each card they use for internet purchases. When you, the customer, clicks the submit button on the order page you will be redirected to your card issuing bank. You will then be asked to enter certain details to authenticate that you are the cardholder. 3D Secure is Chip & Pin for online transactions. The scheme reduces online card fraud.

Shipping and Handling
Delivery within the UK only. Our postage and packing costs are dependent on the weight of your final order and can range from anything from only £1.00 upwards. Your P&P cost will be worked out at checkout once you have finished adding items to your cart. Parts of your order may be dispatched separately. This will be at no extra cost to you, the customer. P&P is quoted for mainland UK only. P&P may be higher if the delivery address is Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland or Channel Islands. We will contact you if postage costs are going to be higher than those quoted.

Delivery
Dispatch times for items will vary. The average dispatch time for an item is 3-4 working days. Some personalised items have a dispatch time of up to 14 working days and some specialised items have longer dispatch times. For an item's dispatch time please click on the 'Product & Delivery Info' button for that particular item.

Returns and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges for non-personalised items: are accepted providing that we have been informed by email within 7 days of receipt and the item is returned in its original unused condition (resalable condition with any labels and/or packaging still intact) to the specific address that we will provide. This must be done within 1 week of the issue of the return or exchange form. Faulty goods will be exchanged or refunded in full. For all other returns or exchanges, the customer is liable for postage costs and refunds exclude the cost of P&P.

Returns and exchanges for personalised, bespoke or made to order items: are prohibited and refunds are only provided in the case of faulty or damaged items.

Returns and exchanges of pet caskets, urns and memorials: are prohibited and refunds are only provided in the case of faulty or damaged items.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for exchanges and returns to be processed.

IMPORTANT - For all returns and exchanges you must first contact us via email. We will then issue you with a returns address which you must return the item to within 1 week of the return or exchange request. In the case of exchanges, you will be liable to pay an extra amounts due for the new product (for example if a larger size carries a higher cost) and you may also be charged for re-dispatch. You will be informed of any charges before we proceed with the exchange.

D for Dog are not responsible for return postage or packages that do not reach us and we will not refund or exchange lost items. The customer is therefore advised to send returns via recorded or special delivery or any other manner that ensures the parcel is covered for the full cost of the item(s).
