Question
My dog’s behaviour seems to have changed significantly
recently. She is weeing and cowering whenever any of us go near
her. She is also yelping whenever she plays ball, but is fine when
running and walking. We think it is something to do with her stomach
but we are not sure.

Hi
Kirstie,
It
sounds as though your dog could be in pain. You need to take her
to the vets to get her checked over. Please use Vet Help Direct
www.vethelpdirect.com to assess how urgently you need to do this
and to get some more specific first aid advice.
Until
you go to the vets keep her completely rested, do not allow her
to run around. She can go out on the lead to go to the toilet. If
possible collect a urine sample to take with you to the vets. Be
very careful - dogs that are in pain occasionally behave out of
character and can sometimes bite or snap unexpectedly.
Hopefully
this is a minor, easily solved problem but it is essential to get
her checked over. Some more serious problems can only be picked
up on examination by a vet.
Hope
she feels better soon.
Kind regards,
Susie Samuel MA VetMB MRCVS www.vethelpdirect.com
