Recycling
old mobile phones and empty printer cartridges is one of the simplest
and easiest ways for charities to raise revenue.
Reclaim-it (www.reclaim-it.com)
offers free collection boxes and reply paid envelopes, allowing
charities to get the full value of the phones and used toner or
ink cartridges.

Dogs Trust have teamed up with Reclaim-it to operate a recycling
scheme that will benefit the dog charity.
Dogs Trust says “In the UK alone, over 2 million printer
cartridges are thrown away and 15 million mobiles are left, unwanted,
each year! Every cartridge thrown away could be feeding a dog
for a week and every mobile left in a draw could purchase much
needed veterinary equipment.”
Raising money for Dogs Trust via recycling is easy. All you have
to do is collect your unwanted mobile phones and used printer
ink or toner cartridges and instead of throwing them away, recycle
them as follows:
1) Request a free-post envelope. Dogs Trust will send you a free
post envelope - all you need do is pop your item inside and post
to reclaim-it for free.
2) Perhaps you work in a small office or a shop where you could
display a box of free post envelopes for your customer and colleagues
use.
3) Or does your workplace go through a lot of cartridges? If so,
why not order a cartridge collection box for your workplace. When
it's full all you need to do is email Dogs Trust and they will
organise collection and a new one to be sent out straight away.
This
can all be done via the Dogs Trust website via their Recycle
with Reclaim-It page. Dogs
Trust will receive a donation for every phone and cartridge sent
in.
