In support of Guide Dogs for the Blind
Association, Shades Day is an annual fundraising event, helping
to raise much needed funds for the Guide Dogs association and it’s
research into sight loss and possible cures whilst also helping
to raise public awareness of important eye care issues. So this
summer you can don your shades in support of a good cause.
Raise funds and awareness
Anything you can do that means having fun in your shades, be it
indoors or out, can be made into a Shades Day event. Those people
taking part all make a minimum donation of £1 to wear their
shades on Shades Day. So whatever you decide to do, you can make
a difference.
Getting started
Guide Dogs will send you lots of fundraising ideas and materials
to get you started such as publicity and fundraising packs. The
fundraising packs come in 5 types and cover businesses, social groups,
nursery, primary, and secondary schools.
Calendar
Shades Day events take place between 21 June and 31 August 2005
inclusive.
