Canine Hydrotherapy - Session 4
My name is Danielle. In January 2006 my 18 month old Shih Tzu Tia slipped and damaged her cruciate ligament. She was referred for 6 weeks of canine hydrotherapy. Here is our personal account of Tia's hydrotherapy sessions.

Session 4
Today we had another hydrotherapy session. Tia did really well again today. Another 1/2 a minute was added on to her time so we are now totalling a 3 minute swim then having a rest and then another 3 minute swim.

We had Nicky again today as Tanya was still away on holiday.
Nicky commented on how well Tia uses her injured leg when swimming. Providing Tia keeps up her progress I think they aim to increase her time again in a week or so but I have to watch her when we get in to monitor her behaviour and then relay this to the hydrotherapist the following week. This tells them whether they should increase Tia's time or not.

Well she was lively when we got home which is good as it indicates that we are not pushing her too hard and it looks like a speedy recovery is paddling Tia's way!

Until next week.......

Danielle and Tia
