My
name is Danielle. In January 2006 my 18 month old Shih Tzu Tia slipped
and damaged her cruciate ligament. She was referred for 6 weeks
of canine hydrotherapy. Here is our personal account of Tia's hydrotherapy
sessions.
Session 5
Today Tia was back at hydrotherapy again, and it was nice to see
Tania back today as well. We went in, showered Tia down as usual
to get the excess dirt out and fitted her with her life jacket.
Tania asked how Tia had got on the past couple of weeks with Nicky
and whether she had been OK after the sessions (no limping or anything)
but Tia was fine and very active so Tania was quite happy and increased
her time by another 1/2 a minute on each swim.
Tania and I were chatting a lot today, mostly about Tia's fitness
and whether I was considering trying Tia at agility again but as
there is every risk her injury could happen again I didn't see that
it was worth it although Tia does bound around the house like a
thing possessed and jumps all over the furniture! Tania doesn't
seem to think Tia will actually need all 10 of her sessions but
as they have been paid for I have decided to keep sending her. It's
really good for fitness anyway and as she can't do her agility anymore
I think it's a good way of keeping her in shape!
Tia had a quick shower afterwards but we didn't shampoo her as it
was straight off to the groomers for a hair cut. I think I was Tia's
favourite person that day!
