Crufts 2005 Best in show - Cracknor Cause Celebre or Coco
Best in show
English and American Champion Cracknor Cause Celebre or ‘Coco’, a six year old Norfolk Terrier bitch, competed against six other group winners to take the title of ‘Best in show’ out of over 21,000 dogs at Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday 13th March 2005.
Coco was bred in England by Elisabeth Matell and is owned by Pamela Beale, Stephanie Ingram and Elisabeth Matell, from Ashford in Kent. Coco had three puppies last summer. Her handler, Peter Green, says this will be Coco’s final Crufts. “She has gone out on a real high” says Peter.
Crufts, organised by the Kennel Club and now in it’s 102nd year, was heralded as being bigger and better than ever before, with some 120,000 people from all over the world estimated to have attended the four day event.
Hero Dog of the year
A new award took place at Crufts this year for Hero Dog of the Year. The winner was Buster the spaniel, an ex-rescue army sniffer dog who uncovers weapons in war zones such as Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq.
