National Pet Week 2005
National Pet Week begins on Saturday, 30th April 2005
National Pet Week ‘Best of Friends, Best of Health’ will be the theme for National Pet Week this year. The aim will be to promote responsible pet ownership and celebrate the bond between people and pets.
Aims for 2005:
1 Promoting responsible pet ownership.
2 Communicating the value of pets for people and people for pets.
3 Raising awareness of the importance of animal health professionals and related services.
4 Increasing public awareness of the role, value and contribution to society of working companion animals.
Thousands of dedicated individuals volunteer to organise fun events for families and pet lovers to enjoy throughout National Pet Week.

The range of events is huge and can include dog and cat shows, dogathons, bazaars, parades, sponsored walks, raffles, dances, veterinary practice open days and roadshows.

Each event has a clearly defined objective and will deal with any or all of the 4 aims stated above.
