National Pet Week 2006
National Pet Week National Pet Week runs from 29th April to 7th May 2006.

Your Pet - One of the Family
will be the theme for National Pet Week this year.
National Pet Week Aims:
1 Promoting responsible pet ownership.
2 Communicating the value of pets for people and people for pets.
3 Raising awareness of the importance of animal health professionals and related services.
4 Increasing public awareness of the role, value and contribution to society of working companion animals.
Thousands of dedicated individuals volunteer to organise fun events for families and pet lovers to enjoy throughout National Pet Week.

The range of events is huge and can include dog and cat shows, dogathons, bazaars, parades, sponsored walks, raffles, dances, veterinary practice open days and roadshows.

You can check out what is going on where you live or become a Friend of National Pet Week, and get a bumper pack of National Pet Week material.

Whatever you decide to do, by being a part of National Pet Week, you can make things better for the nation’s pets and you can help keep National Pet Week running whilst having some fun too!

National Pet Week patron Philippa Forester says
"I am proud to be the National Pet Week patron. I believe that under the banner of National Pet Week, much great work is done to promote the bond between people of all ages and their pets, whilst also highlighting the importance of responsible pet ownership."
