National Pet Month (previously National Pet Week) comes of age
this year by extending the event to a whole month. To mark its
18th year, National Pet Month’s (NPM) theme will be ‘Love
is…….’
The month will run from 7th April 2007 to 7th May 2007 and culminate
in a special 'Wet Nose Day' on 24th April 2007 – a national
day to celebrate pets and encourage people to get involved and
raise valuable funds.
National Pet Month Aims:
- To promote responsible pet ownership.
- To communicate the value of pets for people and people for pets.
- To raise awareness of the importance of animal health professionals
and related services.
- To increase public awareness of the role, value and contribution
to society of working companion animals.
Each year National Pet Month has received more and more support
from the pet-loving public. Why not be a part of it?
The range of events is huge and can include dog and cat shows,
dogathons, bazaars, parades, sponsored walks, raffles, dances,
veterinary practice open days and roadshows.
