Scruffts 2008
Is your crossbreed the next Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year?

Scruffts is the nation’s favourite crossbreed competition and is a great way to enjoy time with your dog and family.

If you own a crossbreed, then the Kennel Club would like to hear from you!
Scruffts

"A crossbreed is a dog of mixed blood, whose parents are of two different breeds, or a mixture of several breeds." says the Kennel Club.

The Kennel Club is co-ordinating Scruffts heats throughout the UK in 2008. The winners from each heat will be invited to Discover Dogs 2008 for the Grand Final. Dog shows hosting Scruffts qualifying heats in 2008 can be searched for in the Kennel Club Events Calendar.

To search the Events Calendar for Scruffts 2008 heats:
1. Go to the Kennel Club Events Calendar page
2. Type 'Scruffts' in the Search Events box and select 'All dates'
3. Click on 'Search'
You should now have a full list of Scruffts 2008 heats to view.

The four classes are:

- Most Handsome Crossbreed Dog 6 months - 7 years
- Prettiest Crossbreed Bitch 6 months - 7 years
- Child's Best Friend* 6 months - 12 years
- Golden Oldie Crossbreed 8 years or over
* handled by a young person from 6-16 years

Each entrant will have a few minutes in the spotlight to dazzle the judges. The dogs are judged on their character, health, and temperament with other dogs and people. The winner of each class will be entered into the Grand Final to compete for the overall accolade of Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year at Discover Dogs on 9th November 2008.

How to Enter:
There is no need to register or enter in advance. Simply turn up on the day at any of the heats listed. Entry to each class is just £1 and all the money raised goes to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust to help 'make a difference for dogs'.

Check the Kennel Club’s website for more information about eligibility for entry, judging guidelines, and who to contact if you have any queries:

Willow won her regional heat and travelled to London’s Earls Court where she won first place in the Golden Oldie category and went on to scoop the title of Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year.

Sc
ruffts supports the Kennel Club Charitable Trust, which co-ordinates individual charitable donations and funds to benefit the canine world. Its mission is to promote the general improvement of dogs through charitable donations and research grants.

Entry to each class is £1 with all money raised going to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust.
