My dog always had loose stools with loads of blood and ever since I started feeding her this food she has been doing much better. Her stools are 100% solid and there is no blood at all. I would recommend it to anyone.

My one year old american cocker spaniel developed colitus a few months ago, she was a funny little eater since I got her, she came with Royal Canin from the Breeder, but she never really liked it, but I struggled on, then suddenly loose stools filled with blood, it was terrible, I was panic stricken and the vet prescribed Hills Prescription ID and she's been doing incredibly well. Never seen her eat so well, stools firm again, and no more colitus episodes for almost 2 months. Because of such bad press am tempted to move her onto something else, but will probably stay with this brand as she's doing so well and I don't have time to begin with home cooked food.

Hills is tested on animals. The vets recommend it because they are often taught about nutrition by Hills people at vet school. Apparently Hills pay the vets for the 'vet recommended' on their packaging. I changed to Royal Canin, but I think they also test on animals. They have also changed the Vet Grade Mini Puppy kibble to suit there profit without warning. The kibbles are too large now, the meat content is lower and the grain content the main ingredient. As they say, you should always change over food slowly, so why dont they practice what they preach. To top it, my puppy does not like the change. Dogs have not evolved to eat grains so why is there food full of it. By-products / deriviatives = sweepings-up off the floors (to be rendered, the stuff not good enough for human consumption), poo, beaks, feather, hair, heads, hooves etc etc. I am now going to try such foods as Natures Menu. Although I havent found out if they conduct animal yet, but the ingredients are right. Why cant the UK be ahead like the USA, this type of food is hard to find.

My dog has been on this since she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last year. She has to lose weight and so far she has done well on this. We soak the dry food and mash it and she seems to really like it. Her coat is glossy and she is starting to look really lean. I would like to put her on something else but the vet insists she stays on hills. I would love to find an equivalent but with better ingredients. Thats my next plan, to persuade the vet!

This food caused blood in the stools of a West Highland Terrier when he was a pup, requiring veterinary attention. I was the same Vet that recommended the food!!

Our puppy had problems with her skin on Science Diet Puppy and when she was switched to Hill's Prescription Diet Ultra Allergen Free Z/D had major problems with her bowel movements. We switched her to Fromm Duck and Sweet Potato and she's doing great.

We currently feed our pup Roxy, Puppy Large Breed with Chicken. Personally I think this food is excellent. It is quite pricey at £42 per 15k. But I cant fault it. Roxy is very healthy, we get a lot of comments about her shiney coat. She is a very calm puppy and growing in proportion.

I think its a good buy for developing puppies and im so impressed with it I will probably continue to stay with them when she passes the 1 yr mark.

It receives a lot of bad press with people claiming its full of junk. But to be honest they are getting more and more natural with less additives than some other I have seen.
