We have just found this food and decided to try it mixed in with Autarky biscuit. We just add 1/4 of a pack in with a smaller quantity of autarky and it works really well giving a very natural dinner which is very tasty and satisfing for both our GSD's. Expect to pay about 70p both 1 pack but when you split it into 4 per dog its good value! There is a good range of flavours. Beware though, the fish one is very smelly!!!

For the first time in 2 years my Great Dane now enjoys her meal times and looks enthusiastic to get to her food bowl. We have been feeding her with Naturediet since the end of January and we're delighted that she no longer has recurring loose stools and flatulence. Have tried several dry foods for dogs with sensitive digestion but none have worked for us! Naturediet is expensive but is worth all the endless worrying. Would be good if there was some sort of biscuit meal to add for dogs teeth and gums.

Having had both my boxer dogs on Naturediet throughout their lives (9 1/2 years), I was amazed when they both developed sensitive stomachs around last Spring. It was a constant battle from one end to the other-if you get my meaning! One of my dogs, who has always had digestive acid, almost ended up being kept in the vets after a particularly nasty attack of vomiting. As Naturdiet had been the only food she could tolerate up to this point I contacted Naturediet to see if they had changed anything about their recipe; the reply I got was horrifying. Instead of cooking the product at high temperature in open units they had decided to comply with 'holistic' measures and now cooked in closed units for half the time; the theory being to keep in more goodness. I have several friends who always used to recommend this food who have had to take their pets off it due to tummy upsets.... I will never use or recommend again.

With no additives I feel confident feeding this to my dog. She really enjoys it and loves me going to the fridge in the hope its her dinner I'm getting out. A good variety of flavours available and a range to suit all ages and type of dog. A fairly inexpensive food which is good for your pocket and good for your dog. The only thing I feel naturediet could do to improve its menu is may be add a mixer to it. Although it is a complete food I prefer to add a few biscuits to help her teeth.

I started my Stafford on Bakers complete & her behaviour changed drastically within days. She became edgy & wouldn't relax. I rang "Staffie Rescue" for advice & they told me the protein level in the Bakers was sky high & it contained a lot of colourants which were making her hyperactive & Staffs need a low protein food. So I tried Nature Diet after a lot of research & am very satisfied with it. She has been on it for about 12 years now. When she was diagnosed with liver problems about 18 months ago a special prescription diet was recommended for her, but when I thoroughly read the ingredients I realised it was almost identical to Nature Diet. After speaking to my Vet we settled for Nature Diet & Nature Zyme sprinkled on it (for pancreatic support). She is actually improving all the time. Equally importantly - she loves it ! The advisors there are also lovely people & very helpful.

My hunt for the holy grail of dog food has continued for 2 years now. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly don’t chop and change. Each food I have tried my boys on has been for approx 9 months per brand, with the usual slow change over from one food to the next.

I have to say that in general I have favoured the dried foods and have been impressed with Burns, James Wellbeloved and Natural Dog Food Company. My boys have tried and been fine on all of these.

So why did I decide to change again? Notice that I say they were ‘fine’…. not great, not bouncing with health and not overjoyed at the prospect of dinner time. Basically, I felt they were bored. Their reaction to their kibble was one of pronounced under excitement. They ate it because they were hungry. I kind of felt sorry for them. I thought, there must be something better I could be giving them. Also, although all these brands had excellent nutrition advice lines and advice was always forthcoming, I never saw the expected improvement in their health. One of my dogs is a major paw chewer and the other has pink itchy skin. This is still the case. So I wondered, could there be a food out there that my dogs will love and that really does make them healthier and happier????

My ultimate goal was to change my boys from processed dog food to a natural diet. I was therefore pretty sure that my interim switch would have to be to a wet food rather than dried. But what I wanted was a wet food that was not packed full of preservatives, flavourings and other nasties. Eventually I plan to prepare even the meat/bone mix myself but for now I was looking for a food that is as close to natural feeding as I could get but with the convenience of packet food.

I had seen Naturediet before, being advertised in magazines and on bill boards, but I never thought to try it. I think the whole Trude Mostue thing sort of put me off. It seemed a bit gimmicky. That is all I can say. I have no other excuse. But anyway, when I took a proper look at Naturediet it did sound interesting so I emailed their advice line and the reply was nothing short of fantastic.

Of particular interest to me was when Amelie (customer services) said “Our range would be a great way of getting their systems adjusted to lesser processed ingredients and indeed a lot of raw / BARF feeders use our food when home preparation is inconvenient.”

Even if you are not sure about Naturediet or you think a little more info would be useful, I would recommend you drop them an email at info@naturediet.co.uk or give them a call on 08700 132960. They also do lots of feeding advice fact sheets which you can download for free from their website.

All I can say for now is that my boys are really loving it more than anything else they have EVER been given. As for health benefits, only time will tell.

My 8-year-old crossbreed (Mack) has suffered from varying health problems all his life, most notably arthritis, digestive problems and chronic diarrhoea. I tried Burns for a while, and although good (with perhaps slight health improvements) I did not feel he was as healthy as he could be.

After scaring myself with thoughts of the BARF diet (fantastic idea, but I'd be sure to get it all wrong!) I decided to try the 'next best thing', Naturediet. What an improvement! Obviously his arthritis is not cured, but he is more lively and happy than I've seen him in a long time, and I am pleased to report his lifelong digestive problems are definitely a thing of the past (I think the addition of Naturezyme - the probiotoc powder in the range - was the deciding factor in getting this sorted out). And all of this within a few months of starting! And best of all - he absolutely loves it! So all in all, it's definitely well worth a go!

I use Naturediet for my girls when its not convenient to do the BARF diet. My girls have been on the BARF diet for a few months now and are fit and healthy, bouncing with energy and their coats are the best they have ever been... Naturediet is the closest I can get to it and they enjoy it too.
