Quality Cottages are letting agents for privately owned cottages & houses all over Wales. They only accept a small percentage of the homes that they look at as their standards are quite high.

Many of the properties accept dogs, some allow several dogs - all free. Their website/brochure is very easy to understand. They are quite expensive, but we always go out of season - usually May, not too badly priced then. Many of the properties are in "areas of outstanding natural beauty" & you can choose from seaside or countryside, some on working farms, some totally secluded.

Ideal for people with unsocial dogs (or children). They offer short winter breaks at some of their properties which I think are very good value especially if you choose a larger property with several bedrooms, as you can go along with a group of friends or all your family & split the cost! Some of them are available over Christmas! We have been to several cottages in N. Wales in the Snowdonia area, which is beautiful! Last time we went to "Wren's Nest" at St. Davids in the south which was lovely.

My absolute favourite was "Arfryn", a terraced cottage in the North in Criccieth (close to Borth y gest & Portmadoc). It is a small, very pretty town & the cottage has a fully enclosed largish garden, secure for children & dogs, & the cottage overlooks the green. The sea is only 400 yds away & can be seen from the front windows. The only problem we had with this property is that the neighbours had several dogs which barked a lot. On the plus side there are lots of cafes & restaurants in easy walking distance. Also part of the beach is dog friendly. Nearby Black Rock sands even lets you drive your car on to the beach & is dog friendly!

I can't speak for all the properties on offer with Quality Cottages, but we stayed in some lovely ones.
